Lou and Darlene Fazenbaker are definitely a YAPS cats best friends. For a long time now, they have made nightly visits to the cattery to spend time with our kitties. They have helped to socialize so many cats that we've lost count. On July 4th, with fireworks blasting overhead from the nearby high school celebration, Lou and Darlene made the trip to YAPS just to sit with the kitties and keep them calm amidst all the loud and frightening noises. No one asked them to do this. It's just the kind of animal loving people they are.

In addition to visiting the kitties and taking Freddy, our staff cat for leash and harness walks around the property, Lou and Darlene have given so much to our shelter in the way of cat food, litter and medical supplies. Lou often acts as our handyman fixing doors and putting sun netting over the outside catteries. Every time he visits he brings little vases with flowers, usually roses, that he puts in our offices, social room and in both of the cattery rooms for the kitties to enjoy (and munch).

We are so fortunate to have Lou and Darlene in our YAPS lives. In honor of their many contributions, we named one room of the cattery Lou's Lounge and the other Darlene's Den. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Lou and Darlene, for all you do for us. All the YAPS cats, past and present, give you a high five, paws up salute.
