Our Kennel Attendant (Volunteer) role is a hands-on, skill-building volunteer position designed for those looking to gain meaningful experience in animal care. This role is ideal for individuals interested in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, or related fields, offering real-world exposure in a working rescue environment.

Volunteers work directly alongside staff to support daily operations, including kennel care, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal behavior. In addition to foundational care tasks, participants receive guided training in basic medical support such as medication administration, assisting with exams, and observing treatment protocols.

While rewarding, this role is active and task-focused—much of the work involves cleaning, preparing, and supporting care behind the scenes to ensure animals remain healthy, safe, and comfortable.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two 3-hour shifts per week (6–9am or 3–6pm)

• Minimum 3-month commitment

• Reliability, willingness to learn, and comfort in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

 

Upon successful completion of the training period, volunteers may receive documentation of learned skills and, when applicable, a letter of recommendation.
